Do Teacher Questions Function as Assessment for Learning?

چکیده
This study wants to challenge the robust idea of previous findings revealing that employing a particular question type would necessarily functions as Assessment for Learning (AfL). Besides, this extends research focusing on typology and examines syntactical forms questioning in its practice. To gather data, six Indonesian English teachers were observed audio- recorded, thus, transcribed analysed following principle Conversation Analysis (CA). Except referential functioning teaching technique discourse marker choice discursively extend classroom talk, result analysis corroborates studies they provide diagnostic information from which better further action was taken place highlighted AfL. Yet, might occur types are syntactically constructed moves. Thus, examination questionings (AfL), aside types, form moves important cope with.
